Instalación de medidas variables
Circuito cerrado de bolsas para recogida de sangre rellenas de agua y anilina roja, que simula una máquina para fabricar sangre. La instalación está compuesta de 36 bolsas suspendidas a dos niveles de altura, las superiores contienen anilina que va progresivamente tiñendo el agua del circuito de las bolsas inferiores hasta llegar al rojo intenso. Se han utilizado bolsas vacías del tipo que usualmente se utiliza para transfusiones sanguíneas y equipos de infusión de uso médico que permiten el goteo controlado de anilina. El tinte de las bolsas superiores se va vaciando lentamente mediante el sistema de goteo de los equipos de infusión que unen las bolsas de anilina a las de agua y que deben ir abriéndose según se quiera aumentar la intensidad de color del circuito.
El dispositivo incluye un filtro de agua conectado a una toma de corriente que mantiene el líquido en movimiento para repartir la anilina y conseguir que el color se mezcle de forma uniforme. El color del líquido cambia progresivamente a lo largo de los días, de transparente a rojo intenso creando un gradiente de intensidad.
Blood Machine es un artefacto producido con intención de verosimilitud, o en todo caso evocador de una posible máquina de la que fluiría sangre, y que daría el color rojo intenso a un líquido transparente. Los materiales con los que está fabricado –bolsas de sangre, tubos flexibles, goteros de transfusión – lo relacionan con el ámbito de lo clínico y la medicina.

Installation of variable sizes
Closed-circuit of blood collection bags filled with water and red aniline, simulating a machine for making blood. The installation consists of 36 bags suspended at two levels in height, the upper contains aniline dyeing the water progressively to dye the lower bags up to the red. They have used empty bags of the type normally used for blood transfusion and medical infusion equipment that allow controled drip of aniline. The higher the stock dye is poured slowly by drip infusion equipment connecting the bags of aniline to the water and that should be opening as you want to increase the intensity of color of the circuit.
The device includes a water filter connected to an outlet that keeps the fluid in motion to spread the dye and make the color is mixed evenly. The color of the liquid changes gradually over days, from transparent to deep red, creating a gradient of intensity.
Blood Machine is an artifact produced with the intention of verisimilitude, or at least suggestive of a possible machine that blood would flow, and would give the color red to a clear liquid. The materials it is made, blood bags, tubing, drip transfusion – they relate it to the realm of clinical medicine.
